The Mausoleum of Hadrian, or Castel Sant' Angelo, Rome, Italy.
A legend says that in 590 AD Archangel Michael appeared to Pope Gregory the Great on the top of the roof, sheathing his sword as a sign of the end of the plague. The sword symbolized the divine wrath The castle, previously a papal castle and a prison, is now a museum.
